2023 Triple Crown Event
Ride date scheduled for May 13, 2023.
STARTING 2023!
The CCD's Double Metric!
Route is 123.4 miles at 8,299 ft of climbing.
located near the bottom of that page.
The CCD consist of three routes. A highland, lowland, and our new Double Metric route. The lowland route is 197.2 miles at 12,600 ft of climbing. The traditional route (highland) is 210 miles and ~15,000 ft of climbing. Both Highkland and Lowland routes are credited toward the Triple Crown Event.
The highland route is one of the more difficult double centuries in the California Triple Crown Series. The Central Coast Double should not be your first attempt at riding 200+ miles, due to the nature and extent of the climbs, which become more difficult if it is a very hot day. In contrast, if you have completed events such as Climb to Kaiser, Terrible Two, Heartbreak, Devil Mountain or the Markleeville Death Ride (all passes) then this ride can be completed well within the time limit.
